How to Trust God Completely
Who do you turn to when life gets hard? Without a doubt, your answer will be God. God is not only our Father; He is also our refuge. God’s promises are stronger than any earthly solution. His peace passes all understanding comforts and soothes better than any salve. He is even there when the world turns its back on you. You can trust God— fully, totally, and completely. But of course, it is easier said than done. Because of human experience and tendencies, it is not always easy to trust in Him. Yes, you can trust Him when everything goes your way. However, can you still trust our Heavenly Father when all things go south?
Life is unpredictable and challenging at times, and that difficulty may persist longer than you had hoped. And this may even bring you to the end of your strength. You begin questioning how you can hold onto your faith in God in the hardest time of your life. In these moments, our trust in God starts faltering. But when times are hard and when the world feels like it’s caving in on you— it’s even more important to stand firmly on the foundation you’ve built on Him. We all know that it is not always easy to lay your life upon God. That’s why, in this blog, you’ll be shown to start believing and trusting God completely. Below are the steps you can take.
Relinquish All Thinking
God looks down at us, guiding us every step of the way. He also listens to our prayers. However, when you see that your prayers were unanswered and problems are unresolved, you begin a cycle of overthinking. God moves in mysterious ways. He does not answer you immediately but rest assured He hears every word that comes out of your mouth. He will answer your prayers, just not instantly. He has a plan in place for you. All you need is to wait patiently in your seat. Therefore, put an end to this endless, exhausting cycle. Accept that it’s not your job to understand. Remind yourself that God has your best interests in mind all the time.
Walk with God Everyday
Faith in God brings so much comfort, even in the midst of difficulties. Faith is what helps us trust God completely. If you are to read the Bible, you’ll find Biblical people— like Deborah, Isaiah, Zechariah, and Elizabeth— who also went through the hard times. Remember that these people passed the hardest time of their lives by walking with God every step of the way. They may not have seen God, but they feel His presence, leading them to have more faith. God may have promised that we will face troubles in our lifetime, but He also promises to walk by our side through it all. See how these people have been gifted with blessings, joy, sanctification, and security just by walking with Him.
Mark Spell declares that God is your constant ally. God is a necessity in your life, especially during spiritual warfare. He will expound and explore the fullness on Fresh Fire: Spiritual Transitions’ book for you to gain a better understanding of how the Spirit of God works to bring all the scriptures together in your life. Spell wants to convey to you that God wants you to find security and confidence in Him alone.
Develop Eyes of Faith
2 Corinthians 5:7 states, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” We have not seen God, but we still gave our trust to Him because of our faith. Faith can truly do wonders. Thus, you can assume that trusting God can be difficult if you don’t have faith, to begin with.
If you want to know how to trust God, you need to know how to have faith in Him. Faith and trust work hand in hand. For that reason, it is crucial to strengthen your faith so you can fully trust God. In order for faith to rise in your life, you need to have the eyes of your heart enlightened to God’s calling. When you’ve fully developed your eyes of faith, you’ll see God as always bigger than your problems, difficulties, fear, anxiety, and hopelessness. He will be the light in your darkest time. Your eyes of faith will keep you going in spite of hardships in life.
